Direct Line Van INsurance

Direct Line is one of the best known car insurers in the UK. However, it’s not so well known that they also provide van insurance. Geronimo was therefore asked to develop a TV commercial using an appropriate celebrity to target van drivers. As Direct Line is not on price comparison websites, a major part of the brief was to convey how easy it is to get a quote over the phone.

Creating a hard-selling TV spot that doesn't irritate or alienate audiences is never easy.

Direct Line 30" TVC

The result is certainly not one of the most glamorous TV commercials you have ever seen. But, for Direct Line, it pulled in four times the level of business they were expecting. For Geronimo, it meant they were given the next three TV briefs. And for me ... I was chuffed to have created a sound mnemonic that not only finished off the commercial nicely - but became part of popular banter. Job done!
